Career on YouTube

Jacknjellify and Battle For Dream Island

On Feburary 5th 2008, the channel Jacknjellify was created. Today, it houses the animated web series Battle for Dream Island (often shortened to BFDI), which premiered on January 1st, 2010. The show involves Anthropomorphism objects (such as household objects) interacting in an environment reminiscent of reality TV. The show involves viewer participation; after each episode, viewers are asked to pick which character should be "eliminated" from the show; the results would be revealed in the following episode. BFDI is widely regarded as having pioneered a new genre called an "object show", most of which follows a similar setting to BFDI.

There are a total of 25 episodes in the first season, which encompasses the first elimination game and concludes with a “last-man-standing” finale. Several seasons have been produced to continue the show.

BFDI has attained the status of subculture on Know Your Meme.[1] BFDI's first book, Battle for Dream Island: Official Character Guide, was published on August 29th, 2019 by Scholastic Corporation.[2] In 2016, BFDI’s Yoylecake was one of 4 foods that made it into the New York Comic Con during the Battle of the Fantasy Foods.[3] In 2021, BFDI won the independent Cartoon Crave Awards.[4]
