Caroline Kerubo Bosire is an environmentalist, and resource management expert. She is currently a research fellow at International Livestock Research Institute, an international agricultural research institute within the CGIAR – formerly the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research and University of Fort Hare.

Early life and education

She was born on June 05, 1978. She grew up in Kenya and holds a Ph.D. in Agroecology and Sustainable Agriculture from the University of Twente.[1].

Bosire, earned a Bachelor’s and Masters of Science degree in biology and conservation at the University of Nairobi. In 2016, she earned her Ph.D. in Agroecology and Sustainable Agriculture from the University of Twente. Her Ph.D. research assessed the environmental impacts of livestock products in Kenya, and her dissertation was entitled The Water and Land Footprints Of Meat And Milk Production And Consumption In Kenya: Implications Of Sustainability And Food Security[2].

Career

Bosire's research interests focus on food systems, sustainable livestock production and consumption, climate change and ecosystem modelling. Bosire, has conducted research on the impacts of increased livestock production on land and water resources in Kenya[3]

Currently, Bosire works as a research fellow for ILIR and the University of Fort Hare.
