Carlo Parentela is a Canadian entrepreneur, hospitality professional, event vendor, executive producer, and restaurateur.[1] Carlo Parentela is the founder of food concepts and businesses such as Château Le Jardin Event Centre, Ya Amo Tacos, CaterX, Find a Banquet Hall.com, Last Bride Standing, and Après Noir.[2]

Carlo Parentela is known as a revolutionary leader in the hospitality industry and has a prominent presence across other sectors such as television, software, and restaurant business. With over 30 years of experience, Parentela is known to have successfully led and managed several businesses with his creative and ingenious strategies.[3]

Early life and education

Carlo Parentela grew up in a family that owned a catering business. Due to his family background, he got involved in the hospitality industry from childhood, washing dishes, working at events and weddings, and serving at waiting tables. He used to attend and manage events along with his parents and decided to pursue a career in the hospitality industry at a very young age itself. Parentela considers his father Giuseppe Parentela as his greatest inspiration in leading the path for him.

Parentela graduated from the Humber College of Applied Arts and Technology, Technology University of Guelph, obtaining a degree in engineering in 1984.

Career

In 1984, Parentela launched his first business in partnership with his father and led the foundation of Chateau Le Jardin Event Venue, a dominant player in weddings and corporate events. Parentela grew the business that initially began as a one-room banquet facility to an 80,000 square feet event venue.[4]

In 1995, Parentela acquired Hunters’ Glen Golf Club in Kleinburg by taking over its catering business. Within two years of acquisition, he grew sales by 450%. In 1998, Parentela ventured into the sports and entertainment industry and opened Private Box Catering. He managed the operations of Icebreakers Sports Bar & Grill at Iceland Hockey Arena.[5]

In 2009, Parentela launched Long Valley Productions, under which he operates two creative businesses, “Find a Banquet Hall.com” and “Last Bride Standing.”

He purchased the existing online platform, “Find a Banquet Hall.com,” a directory for searching venues. and completely revamped the platform to make it more attractive to users and increase the traffic on the website.

In 2012, Parentela as a creative producer created “Last Bride Standing,” season 1, a TV series reality show where brides-to-be competed against each other to win a wedding package worth more than $100,000, which included a free wedding for 250 people at Chateau Le Jardin Event Venue. The TV series became a hit in Canada and the first reality show to film in 3D with the release of season 3.

In 2010, he created the Toronto Bridal show and established itself as a top bridal show to attend.

In 2012, Parentela established a restaurant named Yo Amo Tacos Wine ‘n Grill in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, and has outlets in Toronto, Canada as well.

Parentela is also known to have developed the catering software CaterX, for catering business owners. The software helps business owners to manage all aspects of their catering business including sales, menu, inventory management, contracts, and staffing requirements.

In May 2018, Parental launched a members-only, elite monthly dinner concert series, Après Noir. The series features high-profile guests being served the finest wines, champagnes, and special menus curated by celebrity chefs within the Chateau Le Jardin. Some of the notable guests include Bobby Flay, Robin Thicke, David Blaine, Shaggy, Jennifer Hudson, and Arianna Grande.

Philanthropy

Carlo Parentela is an active philanthropist and believes in actively giving back to the community. In the year 1990, Parentela started hosting free lunches for old and poor people. In 2020, Parentela hosted a free Christmas lunch party for senior citizens and single mothers called Christmas Magic at Chateau Le Jardin.

Personal life

Apart from adhering to his professional responsibilities, Parentela enjoys traveling, helping others, and fine dining with his friends and family. Parentela has three children Christoper, Julian, and Natasha Parentela, who will further carry the responsibilities for the family-owned business.
