Products and services

CSIOS offers full spectrum cyberspace operations (i.e., defensive, offensive, and information networks) services.[5]

CSIOS’ Defensive Cyberspace Operations services are designed to enable passive and active cyberspace operations that protect data, networks, net-centric capabilities, and other designated systems while preserving the capacity to use friendly cyberspace capabilities.[6] These consist of both technical and non-technical activities to safeguard, monitor, analyze, detect, and respond to unauthorized activity within information systems and networks.[7]

CSIOS’ Offensive Cyberspace Operations are designed to project power through the use of force in or through cyberspace.[8] Information gathering (or cyber exploitations) and cyber attacks are the two main functions of Offensive Cyberspace Operations. Information is obtained in and through cyberspace using cyber exploitation tactics. Cyber attacks employ information networks to disrupt, deny, degrade, or destroy information stored in computers and computer networks, as well as the machines and networks themselves.[9]

CSIOS' Information Network Operations services are devised to support all the strategic, operational, technical, and tactical aspects needed to design, build, configure, secure, operate, maintain, and sustain information network operations while preserving cybersecurity.[10]

Awards

As of 2021, CSIOS has received 34 cyber awards for its contributions to the cyberspace and the global cyber community including Maryland's 2018 Cybersecurity Defender of the Year.[11]
