BuyUcoin is an Indian company that operates a cryptocurrency exchange platform.[1] The platform allows users to buy, sell, store, and trade in multiple cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Stellar, Litecoin, Tether, Binance, and Ripple among others.[2] It has over 1 million active users and offers cutting-edge technology with industry-leading security protocols, data encryption, and facilitating multiple payment options.[3]

History

BuyUcoin was co-founded in 2016 by Shivam Thakral, Devesh Aggrawal, and Atulya Bhatt, based in Delhi-NCR.[4] The company operates as a cryptocurrency exchange and wallet service, allowing users to trade over 100 cryptocurrencies through their website and application.[5] The platform is well-known for its speedy transaction processing and low exchange fees. Users can utilize various instant banking services such as UPI, mobile wallet, IMPS, NEFT/RTGS, and debit/credit cards to buy, sell, trade, and store numerous digital assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Litecoin, and Stellar.[6] BuyUcoin employs top-notch blockchain-based solutions for crypto transactions and incorporates automatic KYC/AML features to ensure a secure and user-friendly cryptocurrency trading experience.[7][8]

In March 2020, BuyUcoin partnered with Mobikwik. This collaboration involved integrating the Mobikwik payment gateway service into the BuyUcoin platform, as well as incorporating the BuyUcoin services directly into the Mobikwik Wallet.[9] This integration enabled Mobikwik users to directly buy and sell cryptocurrency within the Mobikwik app. In the same year, BuyUcoin obtained regulatory approval from Estonia's financial watchdog to extend its services globally.[10]

In September 2020, BuyUcoin added support for Bitcoin SV on its platform. Furthermore, in April 2021, the company initiated a pilot program to act as a Roxe payment node for blockchain-based remittance products and services within India.[11]

In September 2021, BuyUcoin introduced a systematic investment plan (SIP) feature for ten different crypto assets. This new feature allows users to diversify their investments across stable coins, bitcoin, DeFi, NFTs, and altcoins, thereby reducing their exposure to risk.[12][13]

Platform

BuyUcoin is a web-based platform and an Android application that can be downloaded from the Play Store. Its identification process is completely automated, making it simple for anyone to open an account.[14]

To get started with BuyUcoin's cryptocurrency trading services, users can sign up in just a few minutes. Registration involves providing an email address. To comply with Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations, users will also need to have their identification documents ready, such as Aadhar card, Pan Card, and bank details, and enter their basic KYC details.[15] Once their account is verified, users can easily deposit crypto or INR into their digital wallet on BuyUcoin. From there, they can buy, sell, and trade various cryptocurrencies in real-time on the exchange, over-the-counter desk, or derivatives platform.
