Bill Roberti
Colonel William Vincent Roberti (US Army, Retired) (born October 18, 1946) is an American businessman, consultant, retail executive, academic, and nonprofit board volunteer. He is best known as a Managing Director at crisis management and restructuring firm Alvarez & Marsal, Inc., from 2002 to present, a former CEO of Brooks Brothers, Inc., from 1987 – 1995, and a former division CEO of Zale Corporation from 1983 – 1987.[1][2][3]
Early life and education
Roberti was born at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport, CT, earned his BA from Sacred Heart University, in Fairfield, CT in 1969, and his MBA at Southern Methodist University, in Dallas, TX in 1987.
Roberti as CEO
Roberti became the division President & Chief Operating Officer, and the division Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of two divisions of Zale Corporation in Dallas, TX from 1984 – 1987. [3] In 1987, Roberti became the President & Chief Operating Officer of Brooks Brothers, Inc. In 1988, the company became a division of Marks & Spencer PLC, in New York, NY. Marks & Spencer named Roberti CEO from 1989 – 1995. [4] [2] [5] Roberti created and launched the Factory Outlet, grew Brooks Brothers Japan from 16 stores to 53 stores, and increased Direct Mail revenue.[6] [7] From 1995 – 1998, Roberti became the President & Chief Executive Officer of the Plaid Clothing Group, Inc., in New York, NY, and sold most assets to Hartmarx Corporation. From 2000 – 2001 he became the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Duck Head Apparel Company, Inc., in Winder, GA. The company was sold to Tropical Sportswear International in August 2001. [8] [9] [10] In 1996, Roberti co-founded executive search and consulting firm Reffett & Roberti Associates, in New York, NY, and Seattle, WA, where he remained a Managing Partner until 2002. [11]

Family
Roberti’s brother Vin Roberti is the chairman of Washington, DC-based bipartisan firm Roberti Global, LLC, and a managing director of Roberti Associates Global, LLC. [12] Roberti was married to Christina Gura Roberti from 1970 – 2005, and they have two daughters: Jennifer Roberti and Jessica Roberti. He married Suzette Toledano in 2012. Toledano is an entertainment, arts, and intellectual property attorney in New Orleans, LA.[13]
Personal
Roberti plays golf and is a member of Hogs Head in Waterville, Ireland, and Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield, CT. He’s also a member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, St. Petersburg, FL, the Army Navy Club, Washington, DC, and The Union League Club, New York City. He is also a House of Blues Foundations Room member. Roberti is also a member of the Chickasaw Nation, Ada, Oklahoma.
