Hafeez was born in Oxford, England[1]. He read Economics at the University of Cambridge [2].

Career

Hafeez started his career at JPMorgan Chase in 1998 in the currency research department[3]. In 2002, he was hired to Deutsche Bank’s currency research team[4]. In 2004, he became global head of FX strategy. He became Managing Director in 2006. In 2011, he headed up Asia research in Singapore. He returned to London in 2012, where he created and headed a new multi-asset research team[5]. He created the new investment magazine Konzept[6]. He also advised the CEO of Deutsche Bank. In 2015, he became honorary visiting professor of finance at The Business School (formerly Cass).

In 2016, he joined Nomura Securities where he headed the currency research team. In 2017, he became head of international strategy[7]. In 2019, he left Nomura to set up Macro Hive - an independent research firm.
