Beth Powning (born August 15, 1949) is an American-Canadian author and photographer. Since 1995 she has published nine books.
Background
Powning was raised as a Quaker in rural Connecticut. She studied creative writing at Sarah Lawrence College in New York[1], during which time she met her husband, the ceramist and sculptor Peter Powning[2]. In 1972 the pair relocated to rural New Brunswick, Canada, where they bought an old farmhouse and still reside[3][4].
