Suresh Gopinath Mhatre[1] (born 15 June 1970) also know as Balya Mama[2] (Marathi: सुरेश म्हात्रे) is an Indian politician from Bhiwandi, India. He is the District President of Nationalist Congress Party for Thane Rural.[3][4] In the Thane Zilla Parishad election results 2017 Balya Mama defeated BJP’s Ranjana Ughda from Sakadbav Village in Shahapur Taluka in Thane District of Maharashtra State. Early life and education
Mhatre was born (Father: Gopinath Mhatre, Mother: Rekha Mhatre) in a middle-class family in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra on 15 June 1970. He completed his Higher Secondary School Certificate from Maharashtra State Board.
Political life
Balya Mama[6] embarked upon his political career in the year 1996 by joining the Shiv Sena as a Shakhapramukh. He was later made the Shiv Sena Vice president of Bhiwandi in 2004. In the year 2008, he was an elected member of the district planning and development council (Thane). In 2011 he join the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and was made Thane district president in 2013 and he contested for 16th Lok Sabha in 2014 from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena. Mhatre rejoined Shiv Sena in 2015 and was appointed as the Zilla Parishad Member.[7][8] Currently, he is the District President[9] of Nationalist Congress Party for Thane.[10][11][12]
