Ballou is a European public relations and corporate communication firm founded in 2002 by Colette Ballou. The firm works primarily with high-growth technology companies and investment firms, with operations in France, the UK, Germany and Spain.[1][2]
History
Ballou was established in 2002 in Paris by American entrepreneur Colette Ballou.[3] The firm expanded to the United Kingdom and opened a Berlin office in 2012 to serve the German tech ecosystem.[4] In 2024, Ballou announced a Spanish office in Barcelona, led by Jörn Dunker.[2][5]
The agency has advised on market launches for several technology companies, including Facebook and Pinterest in France, TransferWise in Germany, Twilio and Eventbrite in the UK, as reported by PRovoke Media.[1]
Activities
Ballou provides strategic communications and media relations services for technology businesses (B2B and B2C) and investment firms, including advisory work, ongoing media relations, crisis communication, media training, content and public affairs. The firm also supports clients around key corporate milestones such as IPOs, mergers and acquisitions and international expansion.[2][5]
Leadership
Founder and president Colette Ballou established and developed the firm around Europe’s technology and venture capital ecosystems.[1] Cédric Voigt became chief executive officer in 2022.[6] In 2023, Léonora Sama-Itoua was appointed managing director for France.[7] In 2024, Fiona Houston became UK managing director,[2] and the same year Jörn Dunker was announced to lead the newly created Spanish entity.[5]

Founder
Colette Ballou founded the agency in Paris in 2002 and later expanded operations to London, Berlin and Barcelona.[4][2] Beyond her role at the firm, Ballou has acted as a limited partner in several venture funds, including Cavalry Ventures and Connect Ventures.[9] She has also been cited among Europe’s influential women in the startup and venture ecosystem.[10]
