Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (Latin: Medicinae Baccalaureus, Baccalaureus Chirurgiae; abbreviated in several ways, most often MBBS,also MB ChB, BMBS, MB BCh, MB BChir and BM BCh) is the main medical degree conferred by medical schools in nations that follow the British tradition. According to historical degree nomenclature, these are two distinct undergraduate degrees. In practise, however, they are often integrated and granted jointly, and may also be conferred by medical schools at the graduate level.

In the majority of medical colleges in China and some medical schools in Australia and the United Kingdom, the main medical degree is Bachelor of Medicine (MB, also BM, BMed). These graduates of medical school with an MB degree may still do surgery.

In the North American model, the corresponding medical degree is given as a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) - the latter solely in the United States - and is pursued by graduates. Formally, medical graduates with an MBBS or MB are permitted to identify their degree as MD.
