Arun Maini is a British YouTube personality and technology reviewer best known for his to the point technology related videos, including gadget reviews, smartphone reviews, camera comparisons and battery comparisons.[2][3][4][5] He has gained popularity there for his tech reviews, advice and personal testimonials for all brands of smartphones, cameras, and gaming set-ups. The channel was started on April 20, 2011 and the first video was uploaded on April 22, 2011. Since then he has come a long way and now has over 3.97 million subscribers with over 656 million views on over 1200 videos as on early 2020. He describes himself as "a 24 year old Economics student whose life's passion is Technology."[6] While he is a well known voice in the tech bubble due to his quality and content packed videos, he is often acknowledged for his mystic voice. There is even a petition for making Arun's voice as the voice of Google Assistant.

Personal life

Arun Maini was born on October 24, 1995, in Nottingham, England. He is 24-years-old. The zodiac sign of Arun is Scorpio. The ethnicity of Arun is South-Asian, Indian ancestry, and is British by nationality. Arun stands with an ideal height of 5 feet 10 inches and has maintained proper body weight. Though he hasn't provided an exact figure of his body, he looks slim and fit from his physical appearance. The color of his hair is black and has black eyes as well.[7] He has majorly kept his personal life away from the limelight.

He attended the University of Warwick and pursued a major in Economics. Having achieved 10A*s at GCSE, 4A*s at A-level, and a First Class Honors in Economics at the university of Warwick, he was excellent at academics. After completing his college, he was so much into tech that he turned into a full-time YouTuber. He was, and still is a serious Entrepreneurial individual. It is evident from the fact that he was into finding opportunities in this field from an age of 11 and he was successful in making a turnover of ₤20,000 at the tender age of 14 from an eBay business of his own. He has designed 3 websites of his own including mrwhosetheboss and is now working on beginning a startup company and writing a book.

Career

Arun was into technology from a very young age and it was only a matter of time that he made big out of it. He joined YouTube on April 20, 2011 and uploaded his first video[8] on April 22, 2011. Many of his videos have hit over a million views and 8 of his videos have hit over 5 million views. But his most viewed video till date remains the video: Turn Your Smartphone into a 3D hologram[9] that was uploaded 4 years ago which not only hit 21 million views but skyrocketed the channel and made Mrwhosetheboss viral. His first hundred videos were some hardware review and much of software tutorials. Since then he has become a buzzing name in the tech world, one of the highly renowned tech influencers worldwide. He was featured on The Huffington Post, The Daily Telegraph, Business Insider, Good Morning America, The 6:30 Show and BBC Radio for his Technology YouTube channel. According to SocialBlade[10] he is expected to hit 10 million within a couple of years.

In some of his QnA and Draw my Life videos,[11] his passion, hunger and drive for excellence is evident, to the point that he went through a phase of anxiety and felt like giving up. He has talked about the fact that he has looked up to Marques Brownlee as a young YouTuber and some of his collaboration videos with MKBHD have grossed a good amount of views.

His smartphone comparisons,[12] camera comparisons,[13] smartphone gadgets,[14] battery tests[15] along with his in-depth smartphone reviews often gross the internet big time. He also created a second channel named MrwhosethebossTV[16] but has only uploaded one video till date which was done back on January 1, 2016. Nonetheless his primary channel has been on the rise. He is known for his in-depth and unbiased opinions about brands and gadgets. He hasn't allowed his fanboyism (if any, maybe Samsung) to defend any brand or speak ill of any other. He is known to use a Macbook along with an android smartphone Samsung Galaxy S20Ultra which isn't everybody's cup of tea. Some of his videos like the What you didn't know series[17] and future centric videos are unlike any other tech YouTuber.

On March 2, 2020 Arun Maini was asked to feature in the launch event[18] of Oppo Reno 3 Pro where he graced the stage as a global tech influencer. This was another significant advancement in his young life as a Tech YouTuber.
