Artur Nvierovych Mkhitaryan (born on 23 November 1982, Yerevan, Armenia[1]) — Ukrainian entrepreneur and developer, founder and CEO of the Taryan Group development company[2].

Biography

Artur Nvierovych Mkhitaryan was born in Yerevan, Armenia. His family moved to Kyiv in the late 1980s[1].He studied at Kyiv General Secondary School No. 178 and the Private "Grand" Lyceum.Received Master’s degree "Management of Organizations" at Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture majoring[1].

Was appointed as the president of local Kyiv construction company Poznyakyzhilbud[3].

In 2009, he temporarily moved to the USA, where, in 2012, he received an Executive MBA degree at NOVA Southeastern University in Miami, USA[3].

In 2011, he founded Taryan Group, the first project of which was the TSARSKY Fitness Club[2]. In December 2015, Taryan Group took over Poznyakyzhilbud.

In 2013, he took part in the reality TV show "Millionaire. Life from the Beginning"[4].

In 2020, he founded and held the first large-scale motivational DreamBIGForum in Kyiv, where a famous American writer and publicist Robert Green spoke for the first time in Ukraine[5].

Family

Grandfather — Mntsakan Mkhitaryan, an Armenian writer and author of a number of poetry collections and short stories, who worked under the pseudonym Taryan[6].

Father — Nvier Mkhitaryan, founder of Poznyakyzhilbud, Chairman of the Union of Armenians of Ukraine (2000 — 2005), MP of Ukraine of IV, VI and VII convocations.

Sister — Astkhik Mkhitaryan, a Ukrainian businesswoman.

Not married, no children.

Achievements

  • In 2008, obtained 79th place in the list of the Best Top Managers of Ukraine according to "Delo" magazine[7].
  • In 2011, obtained 9th place in the list of the Best Top Managers of the Construction Industry according to Ukrainian Trade Guild.
  • In 2016, obtained 36th place in the list of the Top-100 Best Managers of Ukraine according to Delo.UA portal[8].
  • In 2018, he was recognized as the Best Top-Manager of the Construction Industry in Ukraine and took the 47th place in the Overall Ranking of Managers of Ukraine according to "Top-100. Rankings of the Largest" Magazine[9].
  • In 2019, he with his father were included in the list of 100 richest Ukrainian according to Novoe Vremya magazine and Dragon Capital estimations. Father and son were at the 44th place with a fortune of USD 114 mln[10].
  • In 2020, Nvier and Artur Mkhitaryan also appeared in the list of Richest Ukrainians according to the Correspondent magazine estimations. They took the 58th place with the fortune USD 118 mln[11].

In the real estate sector:

  • Based on the results of 2020, the Taryan Towers building was recognized as the best project of high-rise residential complex in the world according to International Property Awards[12].

Loud statements

  • In December 2018, Artur Mkhitaryan published an appeal to the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, in which he described blackmail by the representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine[13]. As several journalist investigations figured out, official of the Ministry of Culture of Viktor Yanukovych's Times were involved in the deal[14]. In May 2019, the Security Service of Ukraine closed the case against Taryan Towers[15].
  • In July 2020, he presented the concept of renovation of Kyiv's industrial district, i.e. Telychky[16] and called on the city authorities and businesses to unite around a comprehensive approach to the development of the district[17].

Charity

  • During the Dream BIG Forum, UAH 1,500,000.00 were raised and donated to the Tabletochki Charitable Foundation[18].
  • In spring 2020, Artur Mkhitaryan purchased and handed over 5 new French lung ventilators to Kyiv hospitals[19].
