AnyTrans is a mobile device management software product produced by iMobie. It is used to transfer, manage, and back up data & files of iOS devices (iPhone, iPad and iPod touch) on macOS or Windows computers. As a device management program, it can transfer photos,[1] contacts, music,[2][3] and more between iPhone (or iPad, iPod touch) and macOS or Windows computers, make entire or partial backups, access iTunes or iCloud backups, realizing one-stop management for iOS data[4] from multiple sources. AnyTrans was first launched in May 2012, and in December 2020 claimed to have over 10 million users worldwide.

Operation

AnyTrans can manage 27 types of data and files from iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, iCloud, and iTunes. It enables users to transfer content between iOS devices,[5] migrate data and files between iDvices and (macOS or Windows) computers, or organize, rename, edit, delete content directly at one place. Claimed as an iTunes alternative,[6] AnyTrans also allows users to move music between iTunes library and Apple devices. Users can sync content[7] between iCloud accounts,[8] but sometimes sync failures occur.

AnyTrans allows users to back up iOS devices[9] with 3 different backup modes: Enable Backup Encryption, Incremental Backup, and AirBackup. Enable Backup Encryption allows users to set passwords for backups, protecting data security and privacy. Incremental Backup applies to who only want to back up the changed or added data, minimizing the disk overhead. AirBackup can automatically back up content[10] when iPhone (iPad, or iPod touch) and (macOS or Windows) computer stay connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

AnyTrans backups can be restored[11] entirely or partially while the program is running. Users can browse[12] all backup contents and restore them their Apple devices by one-click. However, all media and personal data on iOS devices will be erased when restore processes begin.

AnyTrans also provides users with utilities to manage media content.[13] Users can also make custom ringtones for their iOS devices, and manage apps that installed on devices in bulk.

History

Produced by iMobie, AnyTrans[14] was initially released in May 2012, enabling users to transfer, manage, back up data and files between iPhone (iPad, iPod touch) and macOS or Windows computers.
