Anna Demchenko (born February 13, 1986) popularly known as Anna Demis, is a Ukrainian pianist, composer, fashion designer, and song arranger based in New York, USA.[1] She is renowned as a highly sought-after wedding and event pianist, with a portfolio of performances at weddings, corporate gatherings, birthdays, royal events, hotels, and private venues. In recognition of her achievements, XPEDITION Magazine honored her with the 'Entertainer of the Year' title in 2019. With a diverse career spanning music, fashion, and literature, Demis has established herself as a versatile artist with a global impact.[2]
Early life and education
Demis was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, into a musical family where her parents were professional pianists. Following the Chernobyl disaster, her family relocated to Nikolaev, in south-central Ukraine. Growing up in a musical environment, Demis’ connection to the piano began early in life, when she engaged in various pursuits such as piano, choir, ballet, theater, art painting, and artistic swimming. As a child, her talents led her to secure top honors and Grand Prix awards at numerous competitions.
Demis earned her Master's Degree in Music Performance and Education from the Tchaikovsky National Conservatory of Ukraine in Kyiv in 2010. Following that, she started her career as a performer and educator.
To further advance her career as a professional pianist, she moved to Dubai, UAE, in 2013.[3]
In 2020, Anna moved to New York City because her parents and sister had been living there since 2010.
Career
Demis’ career in Dubai is characterized by performances at prestigious global venues.[4] She was adept at performing as a solo pianist or as part of various ensembles. Notably, she spent seven years at the Madinat Jumeirah Hotel, a luxurious resort in Dubai, as a pianist in the lobby lounge. During this time, she lent her musical talents to various events and weddings while building a career as a private piano instructor.[5]
Her musical repertoire spans classical, jazz, pop covers and Disney songs, along with lounge music, piano originals, and diverse cultural melodies, including Arabic, Hindi, and Bollywood tunes. Her performances have graced esteemed venues in the United Arab Emirates and Turkey, including Atlantis the Palm, Burj Al Arab, Armani hotel, BVLGARI, Versace Hotel, Emirates Palace, and Ciragan Palace Kempinski and many more.
Demis has performed all over the world, appearing at events like airshows, galas, exhibitions, and royal gatherings.[6]
In United Arab Emirates Anna's influence extended to celebrity circles. She showcased her talents before esteemed figures like The Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as well as various other royal families. Her performances became emblematic with the most exclusive events and prestigious brands, including but not limited to Rolls-Royce, Givenchy, Business Insider, Elle Magazine, Steinway & Sons, Yamaha, SLS Hotels, and Madinat Jumeirah.
In 2019 Demis was awarded as Entertainer of the Year and performed for Miss Universe Catriona Gray entrance at Xaga Awards.
In 2019, Demis graduated from FAD Dubai Fashion School and debuted as a fashion designer with her handcrafted dresses at Dubai Fashion Week.[7]
In 2020, she relocated to New York USA, where ventured into music composition, establishing a partnership with MusicNotes.com as a signature artist. This collaboration led to the publication of her piano arrangements. As a music artist, Demis is known for her singles La Vie en Rose (2021), Al Bint El Shalabiya (2020) and Album of her arranged pop covers The Best From The Last 20 years (2023).
In 2023, Demis debuted as an author with her first book "Beyond Reality," a compilation of lucid dream stories from across the globe, which achieved bestseller status.
Awards
Demis has been granted the Entertainer of the Year Award from XPEDITION Magazine.[8][9][10][11][12]
Personal life
Demis resides in New York,[13] USA, and is a single mother to her daughter, Scarlett Fein. In her free time, she enjoys engaging in physical activities like workouts and yoga, as well as cooking, painting, and reading.[14][15][16][17]
