Andrew Morgan (born July 28, 2004) is an American football writer who is currently an intern at ArizonaVarsity.com,[1] a high school sports website based out of Chandler, Arizona. He has also written for BuckeyeScoop.com[2], an Ohio State sports website, as well as Foothills Focus[3], a small-town publication based in Anthem, Arizona.

Early life

A native of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Morgan moved to Anthem, Arizona with his parents, Kyle and Jennifer Morgan, at two-months old. Morgan attended Greenbrier Elementary in Glendale, Arizona, where his mother was a teacher, before attending Anthem Elementary, where he later joined the band and played the Drum kit, from first grade through middle school.

Morgan played a few sports growing up including lacrosse, flag football, and cross country.

Morgan attended Boulder Creek High School [4]where he was elected into student government his freshman year. Graduating a year early, Morgan participated in the marching band all three years, becoming the captain of the Marching percussion|drumline in his final year of high school.

Career

In September of 2020, Morgan took on an internship with Arizona Varsity, [5]covering high school sports in Arizona. Later that month, he joined The Scouting Academy, a football education company led by former National Football League|NFL scout Dan Hatman[6], as a social media manager. Morgan also began freelance video work, covering various high school teams across central Arizona.

Throughout the Spring of 2021, Morgan followed a national 7v7 football team[7], culminating in an Emmy Awards nominated (Southwest region) documentary series[8] entitled, Inside The Hive: The Stories of True Buzz West Coast.[9]

In the summer of 2021, Morgan went viral on Twitter for posting numerous free recruiting resources[10] that aid high school athletes. On July 13, 2021, Morgan was verified[11] on Twitter after amassing 2,000 followers.

Personal life

Morgan has six siblings, four of which are adopted out of foster care.
