Amparo Fortunyis a Spanish director and producer of films and documentaries.[1][2][3] As a documentary filmmaker she is best known for the feature film Spanish Teen Rally. Estudiar En Primavera,[4][5] which delves into the world of a group of teenagers whose protests in defense of Public Education triggered the so-called Valencian Spring.[6][7][8][9]

Biography

She was born in the city of València, Spain as Amparo Soria Fortuny.[10][11][12] She studied at Instituto Lluís Vives, screenwriting at NIC, earned a degree from the Escuela de Cinematografía y del Audiovisual de la Comunidad de Madrid (ECAM) and a master's degree from Glasgow School of Art.[13][14] Film poster Estudiar en primavera.

For years, she coordinated working on television with various audiovisual projects. Her work has been exhibited internationally at film festivals, museums and art galleries.[15][16][17] She founded her own production company called The Next Day Films for which she has produced documentary films, shorts, music videos, participatory projects, experimental films, VR and commercials but also to projects outside the audiovisual sector, such as exhibitions, cultural management, publications and other types of cultural projects.[18][19][20][21] She has directed shortfilms, videos and the feature documentary Spanish Teen Rally Estudiar en primavera premiered at Cineteca Matadero Madrid Centre for Contemporary Creation.[22][23][24][25] It was well received by the media and has been screened internationally at various film festivals. She is also lecturer of filmmaking and storytelling at Glasgow Clyde College.[26][27][28]
