Amitt Sharma is an entrepreneur, inventor,[1] researcher, and futurist. He is the founder and CEO of VDO.AI, a global video advertising platform and Z1 Media, a technology company building cutting edge products at the intersection of media and advertising with 200 employees and operations in 6 countries globally.[2][3][4][5]

Amitt started his first company at age 15. He has built over 30 different software products, many of which became category leading with millions of users globally. He has also sold 2 companies so far. He is passionate about innovation, technology, philosophy and physics, as well as building for the future. Sharma has built category leading software products with millions of users globally. He is also an avid traveler, adventurer and explorer, who has visited Antarctica on a research vessel in 2019.[6][7]

His primary interests lie in exploring how technology can benefit humanity, and is currently evaluating possibilities brought about by artificial general intelligence, synthetic biology and space exploration.

Career

Entrepreneurship

Sharma founded his first company at the age of 15. He began developing software for various video games and utilities to keep users entertained, which are being used globally by millions today.

In 2011, Sharma started Zomobo, a social encyclopedia, and real-time multimedia company. Before which, he co-founded SuperSource, a software development and internet marketing company in 2007.

Sharma co-founded StatMyWeb in 2012, a leading web analytics and third-party web statistics platform which had 30 million users at its peak.

Sharma co-founded SocialStar and Ozock in 2015. As an early mover in influencer marketing, the platform had leading celebrities like Hulk Hogan, Sean Kingston, and Sunny Leone among other leading influencers on Facebook as partners. SocialStar had a monthly organic reach of 200 million users, and the content platform Ozock was among the top 300 websites in the world as per Alexa rankings.

In 2015, apart from his entrepreneurial career, Sharma worked with NASA as an innovator for SpaceApps. He invented a smart space glove with a gesture control unit that senses EMG motor neuron activity from natural hand gestures performed by a human, and translates it into intended actions like maneuvering a rover, controlling a camera, activating sensors, and more.[8]

In 2017, Sharma founded Receptix, a data-driven digital job advertising platform. The company is headquartered in the US, and has over 10 million subscribers, and works with many leading F500 enterprise clients across multiple industries.[9]

In 2018, Sharma co-founded VDO.AI with Arjit SachdevaI.[10] The company functions as a video advertising platform, which aims to help web publishers access the advantages of video content. VDO.AI pioneers in tapping the digital advertising space and empowers business with increased user engagement and monetization.[11][12]

Presently, Sharma serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Z1 Media, a media and advertising company that operates top ranking platforms and properties across the web and mobile.

Research Contributions

Sharma was inclined towards the possibilities of technology making the world a better place. Simultaneous to his professional career, Sharma has enjoyed contributing to expanding the total sum of human knowledge by publishing his research in various leading journals, including the biggest technology journal globally, IEEE.

Sharma has also worked with professors and students at MIT Media Lab on building innovative technology solutions across different categories and focused tracks.[14][15]

Inventions

As an inventor, Sharma has contributed many innovations in technology. Including but not limited to:

  • Switching device for power control of electric appliances operable by both touch and wireless Bluetooth technology
  • Micro-Controller based wireless switching device for power control of electric appliance using Bluetooth technology
  • Spock Glove, a NASA Space Apps Winner, the smart space glove which has a gesture control unit that senses EMG motor neuron activity from hand gestures performed by a human, and translates that into intended actions like maneuvering a rover, controlling a camera, activating sensors etc.
  • Zomobo, a real-time, multimedia and social encyclopedia with millions of articles providing dynamic, fresh information
  • StatMyWeb, a platform that lets you find any information that is publicly available about a website
