Amir Khoury (Arabic: أمير خوري; born December 16, 1995) is an Israeli-Arab actor. He is best known for his role as Samir in the Israeli Netflix series Fauda. He has also appeared in numerous well-known Israeli series, films and theatre plays. He is fluent in English, Arabic and Hebrew.

Early life

Amir was born in Haifa, Israel, to an Arab Christian family. His family has a photography business which focusses on weddings and celebratory events.[1][2] Amir has two older sisters, one of whom Rana Khoury is a classical Arabic music singer. He graduated from the Yoram Loewenstein Performing Arts Studio in 2019.[3]

Acting career

In addition to acting in films and series, he has also acted in both Arabic and Hebrew speaking roles in theatre plays. His most recent plays includes a theatrical performance of Dorit Rabinyan's book All of the Rivers, where he plays the Palestinian artist Hilmi who resides in the US and falls in love with a Jewish Israeli woman.[4] This year, he is starring in Avi Nesher's new movie Picture of Victory as an Egyptian journalist.

Personal life

In the beginning of 2019, he started dating an Israeli Jewish actress whom he met at the Yoram Loewenstein Performing Arts Studio.[5] The couple began living together in September 2019; however, they split up in August 2020 and stayed as friends.[6][7]
