Alastair Philip Wiper is a British photographer known for photography of industrial and scientific facilities, such as factories and laboratories. He developed an interest in industrial photography in 2009 after seeing images from the mid 1900s.[1] Wiper has taken photographs of the manufacturing plants that produce Adidas shoes, Spam,[1] and sex dolls, as well as scientific facilities like wind tunnels[2] and the CERN nuclear research center.[3] His photos of a pig processing plant where pig corpses were lined-up on hooks were especially controversial.[3] In 2020, Wiper published a book containing photographs of machines and technology called "Unintended Beauty".[1][3] This was followed by a 2023 book called "Building Stories" and focused on architectural photography.[4] Wiper is British and lives in Copenhagen, Denmark.[1][4]
