AirAdvisor is a company that provides online travel advice, manages air transport claims and supervises the implementation of air passenger rights in the event of flight delays, cancellations, and denied boarding.[1][2][3]

History

AirAdvisor was founded in May 2017 by Anton Radchenko, headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. Radchenko's own experience was the source of inspiration for the creation of AirAdvisor. When Radchenko's boarding of a connecting flight from Frankfurt to Dubai was delayed by Lufthansa Airlines, he could not get the airline to reimburse him, despite being a lawyer himself. Radchenko came up with the idea to incorporate AirAdvisor as a simple and effective internet-based solution for supporting travelers to claim compensation from airline companies.[4][5]

Customers

The organization delivers services utilizing a "completely remote" model from locations such as the United States, Ukraine, Poland, Germany, and Canada. The website's services are available in 10 distinct languages. It is a professional company that seeks compensation from air transport companies on behalf of individuals, businesses, and corporate clients such as travel agencies, tour operators, booking companies, tour operators, and concierge companies for their delayed, canceled, missed flights, or refusal to board due to overcrowding. Since its founding in 2017, AirAdvisor has served over 100,000 customers from 56 countries.[6]

Services

AirAdvisor provides claim management services under the terms of regulation EC No. 261/2004. As per the clauses of regulation, EU passengers are entitled to compensation if their flights are cancelled, delayed for a long time, or they are not allowed to board. The compensation can be claimed within three years after the occurrence of event, and the maximum amount that can be claimed is $700.[7]

Online mechanism

The trained system automatically and without cost performs the initial evaluation of each instance through its online flight delay compensation calculator. Through their artificial intelligence-enabled tools, AirAdvisor compiles data from several databases to find out what transpired when a flight was postponed or canceled to support claims against airlines. AirAdvisor will fund a claim to proceed to the courts in the proper jurisdiction for proper collection if an airline rejects the claim but AirAdvisor thinks it to be valid. Let's say a court rules in favor of the passengers, but the airline disregards the ruling. In that case, if possible, AirAdvisor will try to enforce judgments through executors or bailiffs.[8]

Membership

  • Association of European lawyers
  • International law Association Canada

Fee

If the compensation is successfully collected, Air Advisor assesses a payment under the following standards:

  • 30% of the sum of money received as compensation
  • 50% of the total compensation received in instances involving attorneys

EC Regulation 261 guidelines

The EU regulation 261 specifies the norms and procedures for monetary compensations and assistance to passengers in the event of flight disruptions. The following are the general guidelines for delayed, canceled, missed, and denied boarding:

  • When a flight is canceled within 14 days of departure, monetary compensation may be provided.
  • If passengers reach their destination with a delay of more than three hours, they can file a claim for a late flight.
  • If all flights are included in a single booking, EC261 treats the booking as a whole. This means that compensation may be paid if one of the connecting flights is delayed or canceled.
  • If the airline refuses to board, passengers may file a claim for overbooking compensation.

Awards and recognition

Since its founding, Air Advisor has won three accolades: the Unicorn Award for the Best Startup Potential (2018), the Top 24 Best Startups by MassChallenge Accelerator (2019), and the 128 Startup Battle Winner (2018).
