Adam Barnard is an American writer, photographer, and podcast host who hosts Foundation Radio.

Early Career/Writing

Barnard was a contributing writer for the Bucks County Courier Times through his high school years. During this time, Barnard won an award from the Youth Editors Association of America for a profile piece published in 2001.[1] In 2017, his profile piece on rapper Asher Roth was published in the Courier Times as a special assignment.[2]

Between 2018 and 2020, Barnard photographed and wrote several reviews for Live for Live Music, including Run The Jewels[3], Mike Shinoda[4], and Foo Fighters[5]. Barnard also contributes as the professional wrestling analyst for pop culture website Kulture Popped.[6]

Foundation Radio

Barnard started Foundation Radio as a radio program on WCUR 91.7 FM as a student at West Chester University. The show began in 2009 and featured interviews with Yelawolf and Neil deGrasse Tyson.[7] The radio program ended in 2012.

Barnard rebooted Foundation Radio as a podcast in June 2019. In August 2019, his son James Barnard was the subject of a Twitter exchange with WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg involving anti-bullying.[8] The story received local news coverage in the Philadelphia market.[9] On September 24, 2019, Goldberg appeared on Foundation Radio to speak with James regarding the experience, as well as present him front row tickets to WWE SmackDown at the Wells Fargo Center on November 15, 2019.[10]

In early 2020, the podcast transitioned to an interview style program, and has featured guests like Diamond Dallas Page[11][12][13][14], Eric Bischoff[15][16][17][18][19], Asher Roth[20], Brandon Novak[21], and special effects artist Jason Baker[22][23]

Since August 2021, Barnard has been the guest host of "Mind of the Meanie", a podcast with WWE and ECW professional wrestler The Blue Meanie and Josh Shernoff.[24]

In September 2021, Barnard was the subject of a posted and deleted tweet from professional wrestler CM Punk regarding a tweet Barnard sent out during Money in the Bank (2021). In the screenshot shared by Punk, Barnard was responding to fans in attendance chanting "CM Punk", and wrote that he would "eat his shoes" if Punk returned to professional wrestling.[25] Barnard's tweet was sent approximately 48 hours prior to news breaking of Punk's return to the ring with All Elite Wrestling.[26]

Personal life

Barnard resides in Downingtown, Pennsylvania and is married with three children.[27]
