Ada-Maria Ileana (born June 6th, 1997) is a Romanian model, philanthropist teacher and beauty queen. She represented her country in three international pageants: Miss Tourism World 2018[1], Miss Tourism International 2018[2] and Miss International 2022[3]. Ada is the President and co-founder of Investors in Dreams (Investitorii în Visuri[4]). The Non-governmental organization was created to improve career prospects of girls aged at least 14 in the social assistance and child protection system, by offering professional training courses in the field of beauty, followed by apprentice opportunities.[5]

Background

Ada was born in Bucharest, Romania, on June 6th 1997. She graduated Gheorghe Lazăr National College, Bucharest in 2016. The same year, she began working as a English as a second or foreign language teacher for children and teenagers.

In 2020, she completed her Bachelor's degree in Security studies, at University of Bucharest. Her thesis was centred on the issue of nuclear energy and its role for the Energy security of the European Union. [6]

Ada went on to become a Master of Science in Public policy, at University College London, in 2022. Her researched focused on School-leaving age in Romania, as a result of the lack of Vocational education options.

Pageantry

Ada first competed in Miss Universe Romania 2017, at the age of 20. She was then appointed Miss Tourism Romania 2018 and went on to compete in Miss Tourism World 2018 (China) and Miss Tourism International 2018 (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), where she was rewarded with the Miss Fascinating title.

In 2020, Ada competed in Miss Universe Romania again and emerged as the 4th Runner-up[7].In April of 2021, Ada was crowned Miss International Romania. During her reign, she organised a Charity (practice) workshop to buy supplies for children in danger of abandoning school (December 2021).[8] In March 2020, Ada put together a charity Fashion show in Bucharest, with over 20 models and 12 famous Romanian designers. The show raised both awareness and funds to combat Menstrual Poverty in the country. Part of the funds was donated to the Ukrainian refugees.[9]

Ada was also the project manager of Romania goes International, a week long visit of Sireethorn Leearamwat to the Eastern-European country. This was an initiative to promote Romanian culture and tourism, but also to introduce Pageantry to Romanians.

In December 2022, Ada was one of the 66 contestants in Miss International 2022, where she stunned in an authentic, traditional Romanian costume from Beiuș.
