John Oluwasegun (born 20th January 1998), known by his stage name Zealot, is a Nigerian Afrobeat singer, songwriter and performer. He began his music career as a vocalist for his secondary school band in his hometown of Ibadan. Zealot has recorded various singles and enjoys airplay in Nigeria and other countries in Africa. He is currently signed to Jabulani Entertainment.

In July 2017, he released his debut single Feeling [1]. He has since followed it up with several singles, collaborations and producer credits under his label.

Early life

Zealot, who is known for his ability to sing fluently in English Language and Yoruba Language, was born in Oyo State, Nigeria to Mr. and Mrs Oluwasegun. He is the first of four children. He attended Urban Day Grammar School Ibadan and went on to study computer Science in Osun State College of Technology, Osun State.[2] Zealot began his music career officially in 2017. He was discovered by King Jabulani and later signed to Jabulani Entertainment record label, which is home to talents like Flexy-Jay [3], Shun-Tee [4] and Lady Machi .[5].

Music Career

2017: Feeling

In 2017, Zealot released his debut single "Feeling" [6] through Jabulani Entertainment. The song went on to gain airplay in Lagos and other part of Nigeria which helped place him on the map. Over the years Zealot has collaborated with Oritse Femi and has gone on to release several other body of work.
