Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu (born March 27, 1968) is the current First lady of Kebbi State, Nigeria, and spouse of Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.[1] She is the first African board member of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC).[2][3][4]

Education and career

Bagudu had her elementary education in Queen's College, Lagos. After graduating from Queen's College, Lagos in 1984, she obtained an MBBS from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. She then proceeded to the United Kingdom for specialist training in Pediatrics and Neonatology, she obtained a master's degree in Pediatrics, Diploma in tropical child health and membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. She returned to Nigeria to start Medicaid Radio Diagnostics & Clinics.[5][6] She also created a foundation to create awareness about cancer[7] and support cancer patients called Medicaid Cancer Foundation,[8][9][10]
