Yunsuk Jin (born 1980) is a South Korean entrepreneur based in South Africa. He is the founder of Africa Tour Story, the official distributor of Volvik golf products in Africa, and the CEO of Energy 21 and KOAF Energy, companies actively engaged in the renewable energy and infrastructure development sectors across the African continent. Jin is also a board member of the African Energy Chamber (AEC).
Early Life and Career
Jin moved to South Africa in 2006. He initially operated a guesthouse but soon ventured into the tourism and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry by founding Africa Tour Story, a company that introduced customized African travel services to the Korean and broader Asian market.
In addition to tourism, he became the exclusive distributor for Volvik, a South Korean golf brand, across Africa. His business presence has expanded into renewable energy through the establishment of Energy 21 and KOAF Energy, where he focuses on solar power, BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) partnerships in sub-Saharan Africa.
Public Engagement and Leadership
Jin is widely known in South Africa by the nickname “The Chief” due to his strong community ties and leadership among local partners. He has been recognized for fostering cooperation between African and Asian markets and has played an active role in energy diplomacy through his position at the African Energy Chamber.
In 2024, he was invited to speak at the Embassies Business Fair & Conference, promoting cross-continental collaboration in green energy investment and infrastructure.
