Yousif Khalil Ahmed (born February 14, 2003) is a British media personality, TV presenter, aspiring pilot, and field hockey goalkeeper.[1] Currently, he is studying to obtain an Airline Transport Pilot's License (ATPL) at the Flying Academy Prague.[2][3]

Ahmed is recognized for his work as a presenter with VICE and subsequent contributions to press and media coverage at Bred, notably reporting on the Rolling Loud Portugal music festival in 2023.[4] He also actively streams on Twitch.tv, where he has achieved affiliate status and is quickly progressing towards partnership.[5]

Early life and education

Ahmed was born on February 14, 2003, in St. Leonards on Sea, United Kingdom, to a family of Iraqi heritage. He is one of three siblings and was influenced by his father, Dr. Khalil Ahmed, who owned the Seymour Clinic in London and instilled in him a commitment to excellence. Ahmed is connected to his Iraqi roots and frequently visits his family's homeland to immerse himself in his cultural heritage.

He completed his GCSEs at Sir Joseph Williamson's Mathematical School in 2019, where he also participated in rugby. In 2021, he finished his A-Levels in biology, psychology, and chemistry at Rochester Independent College while studying French and mathematics simultaneously.

In 2022, Ahmed relocated to Prague, Czech Republic, to pursue an Airline Transport Pilot's Licence (ATPL) at the Flying Academy Prague.

Career

Ahmed started his media career following an interview with VICE as an avid music enthusiast for its TikTok page.[6] Despite his limited prior experience, his charismatic persona and dedication to the industry led to a compelling offer from VICE to join their team as a presenter. His debut in this role garnered widespread recognition and paved the way for a promising career in the media field.[7]

Ahmed's talents further attracted the attention of Bred, an entity closely affiliated with the Universal Music Group.[8] Within Bred, he assumed a pivotal role in media coverage, actively participating in press and media assignments for various events. His most noteworthy undertaking was reporting on the prestigious Rolling Loud Portugal music festival in 2023, a significant platform where he conducted interviews with music enthusiasts and artists.[9][10]

In addition to his traditional media endeavors, Ahmed also plays an active role in live streaming on Twitch.tv, where he achieved affiliate status within just one month of streaming and is presently working towards becoming a Twitch.tv partner to solidify his presence in the online streaming community.[11][12]

Personal life

Ahmed has moved to Prague. He originally aspired to study medicine and psychology, however, his passion for flying led him to pursue a career as a pilot. Balancing his presenting career with pilot training, Ahmed remains dedicated to personal and professional growth.

Additionally, Ahmed is a field hockey enthusiast. He actively participates as a goalkeeper for his local club, OWHC (Old Williamsonian's Hockey Club).
