Younes Al-Sharqi (Arabic: يونس الشرقي), a Moroccan writer, was born in 1983 in Casablanca.[1] He holds a PhD in mechanical industry and material corrosion, and won first place in the Channel Two Prize for Literary Creativity for his novel Dark Horses (Khoyol Al-dhalam).[2] He works as a university professor at the National School of Applied Sciences, Benzohr University, Agadir.[3]
Biography
The writer, Younes Al-Sharqi, was born in 1983 in Casablanca. He holds a PhD in mechanical industry and material corrosion and a diploma of a state engineer with conception and mechanical industry from the National Higher School of Electricity and Mechanics.[4][3] The writer won first place in the Channel Two Prize for Literary Creativity, category of the novel, for his novel Dark Horses (Khoyol Al-dhalam) in 2016, and won second place in the Sharjah Prize for his theatrical script Al-Hagalat Neighborhood (Hay Al-Hagalat)[5]. In 2017, he won the third place in the Arab-African Youth Council “Afrabia” award in the field of short story with his novel titled "Five Thousand Pounds" (Khamsat Alaf Lira) in 2017.[2]
