Muhammad Haqeem Nuriman Nor Azrin or better known as Yonnyboii is a Malaysia rapper, songwriter and producer from Kuala Lumpur[1]. Yonny embarked on a musical career as a teenager, independently releasing his first mixtape in 2016. Going forwards, Yonnyboii spent the next years honing his craft, posting his music on YouTube to gain a following. In 2019, he released his debut single ‘Takut’ alongside Caprice.

Career

2019 was Yonnyboii’s year, with his two collaborations with Zynakal, ‘Cemburu’ and ‘Sakit’ having 1 million and 13 million views on YouTube respectively[2]. ‘Sakit’ has also been #1 on the domestic RIM ‘Most Streamed Singles in Malaysia’ chart for eight consecutive weeks, launching Yonnyboii into mainstream consciousness[3] [4]. As a producer, Yonnyboii most recently worked with Siti Sarah on her latest single, ‘Dap.. Dap… Dap…’[5]. On April 3 2020, Yonny released his latest single, ‘Salahku’, which gained over 300k views on YouTube within a week of releasing. Yonny have also featured in other songs notably appearing in Dayang Nurfaizah and Faizal Tahir's 'X Missing You' alongside K-Clique's Tuju[6].

On April 2020, during of the Covid-19 pandemic, Universal Music Malaysia released a collaborative single, #JANGANKELUAR features 17 Malaysian artists which was written and produced by Yonnyboii[7][8][9].
