Film, television and theatre actor, Yashodan Rana (born 25th June 1973) became a household name with the portrayal of Lord Shiva on Om Namah Shivay (1997 TV series), a TV series that aired on DD National from 1997-2001. Eventually, he played the lead role in Tony (2019 film) and currently plays the role of Lord Krishna in the on-going play, Mahabharata – An Epic Tale, directed by Puneet Issar[1] [2] [3]

Early Life and Education

Yashodhan Rana was born on June 25th, 1973 in Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh. His father, late Krishan Singh Rana, originally from Himachal Pradesh, worked for the Government resulting in constant shifting. His mother, Aruna Rana is a home maker.

Rana completed a good part of his education at the Modern School at Barakhamba Road, Delhi. He completed Higher Secondary at the Kendriya Vidyalaya in Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh and graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from the Government Degree College in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Yashodhan holds an MBA in Marketing from IMM, New Delhi. Yashodhan Rana was married to co-star Gayatri Shatry from Om Namah Shivay from 2001 – 2010.

Career

His latest film, Tony (2019 film), with him playing Tony, was released in 2019. His play Mahabharata is still running in theatres in which he plays the role of Lord Krishna.

Yashodhan Rana began his acting career in 1997 as Kamdev in Om Namah Shivay (1997 TV series). He eventually replaced the lead actor and took on the main role of Lord Shiva. He has since been in several shows such as Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, Crime Patrol (TV series), Matti Ki Banno, Surajya Sanhita , Prithvi Vallabh - Itihaas Bhi, Rahasya Bhi & more. [1]
