Yahoo! Doodle was a feature within Yahoo! Messenger. It’s unknown when it was released, but some believe it was alongside Yahoo! Messenger’s initial release, which was in March of 1998[1]. Yahoo! Doodle let users draw while messaging. People loved Yahoo! Doodle, because it allowed conversations to have more expression than the regular text and emoticons messages. It supported more than two participants, allowing group chats to draw together. Yahoo! Messenger was a pioneer of online messaging, which made Yahoo! Doodle and its collaborative features, popular and loved globally.

Slowly through the years other online messengers emerged and drew people away from Yahoo! Messenger, consequently drawing people from Yahoo! Doodle. Yahoo!, who created Yahoo! Messenger, tried their best to revamp the application and pull their users back, but didn’t succeed, resulting in Yahoo! Messenger sadly being discontinued in July of 2018, which took Yahoo! Doodle along with. Today, Yahoo! Doodle is a nostalgic reminder of the early years of the internet.
