X DOT 25 Music is an American independent record label and music production company established in 1990 in the San Francisco Bay Area. The label is recognized for its role in the development of the world fusion and world trance genres, often facilitating cross-cultural collaborations between Middle Eastern, Indian, and Western musicians.[1]

History

Founded by Max Ahmadi and Payman Abdali, X DOT 25 Music began by releasing music in physical formats such as cassette tapes and compact discs. During the 1990s, the label became a hub for the "San Francisco World Music Concert Series," producing high-profile performances at venues like the Palace of Fine Arts.[2]

The label served as an early platform for several groups that later signed with major international labels, including Axiom of Choice (later signed to Narada/Virgin) and Mythos (later signed to Universal/EMI).[2]
