William “Bill” M. Raveis, Jr. (born June 18, 1945) is an American entrepreneur, philanthropist and book author known for founding and serving as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of William Raveis Real Estate, Inc., which ranks the 10th largest independent real estate brokerage in the United States.[1] Raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Raveis initially worked in the construction industry alongside his father, William Raveis, Sr. In 1973, two generations later, he opened his inaugural real estate office in Fairfield, Connecticut, establishing a company ethos centered around the principle: "Our agents are our customers."[2] Over the course of fifty years, Bill, along with his two sons, Chris Raveis and Ryan Raveis, cultivated a privately held real estate enterprise deeply rooted in familial values.[3][4][5]

Philanthropy

The William Raveis Charitable Fund

Started in 2004, The William Raveis Charitable Fund partnered with organizations across the Northeast to provide funding as well as physical and emotional support to patients and their families affected by breast cancer. William Raveis offices raised thousands of dollars for Breast Cancer. In 2015, Bill formed a partnership with the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation which expanded the scope to fundraise for a cure for all types of cancer.[6] The Charitable Fund's largest annual event, The William Raveis Ride & Walk donates 100% of all funds raised to support the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation in New York City, NY as well as the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA.[7] Nearly four million dollars have been raised through the efforts of The William Raveis Charitable Fund.

Individual Philanthropy

  • 1986: Funded the construction of the Coastal Center at Milford Point[8]
  • 2009: William Raveis - American Cancer Society Patient Navigator Program Dedicated at UConn Health Center[9]
  • 2019: Named Honoree at the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation for money raised[10]
