William H. Tunnard

William H. Tunnard was a Confederate soldier, newspaper editor, and author. He wrote A Southern Record: The History of the Third Regiment Louisiana Infantry.[1] He edited the Shreveport Times as well as the Southern Sentinel in Winnfield.[2] In 1874 he was listed as editor of a Republican newspaper in Natchitoches, Louisiana.[3]

He was born in New Jersey and settled in Louisiana while he was young.[2] He served in the Confederate Amry and was captured.[4] His book is an account of Louisiana's Third Regiment during the Civil War.[5][6]

His book has been republished several times including by the University of Michigan in 2006.[7]
