William Diaz (born 5 April 1996), also known as VVILL,[1] is an American DJ, Producer, and Entrepreneur.[2] He is the founder of VVILL agency, a leading social media advertising agency, which was recently acquired by Shopify, a media and technology growth partner.[3]
Diaz rose to popularity with the release of his debut single Enemy, which was followed by his other hit singles such as Run With You and Live On. He is considered one of the fastest-rising electronic dance musicians in Miami, Florida.[4]
Early life and education
Diaz was born in Los Angeles on April 5, 1996. While attending after-school programs and summer camps for the arts, he developed a love for music at a young age. Diaz learned to play the guitar as a child, but he was always drawn to electronic music and was enthralled by music festivals such as EDC, Ultra, and Coachella.
After graduating from Animo Venice High School, Diaz went to Cal State Northridge business school but eventually dropped out to pursue entrepreneurship.
Career
Diaz started his career as an entrepreneur by establishing Vertical Media Limited which expanded to become a major social media advertising firm. VVILL acquired a reputation for specializing in Facebook campaigns and digital commerce advertising buying for enterprise clients under his leadership. In 2017, what began as 'Meme Marketing' with over 20 million followers swiftly morphed into its advertising component.[5][6]
Having a passion for music, Diaz left VVILL in 2022 when it was acquired by Shopify to pursue music full-time. He released his debut single Enemy, followed by Hurucan, and most recently Run with You, all of which have received a positive response in the industry.[7]
