William Anthony (William Leyva) is a Spanish-Canadian singer and songwriter.

The Cuban-born singer spent his childhood and teenage years performing at the Church's Choirs in Cuba and Spain.

He undertook vocal training in Barcelona with José Luis Basso[1], the new director of the Royal Theater Choir –who at the time was the director of the Choir and creative advisor on the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Spain.[2]

William's training and performances led to his later work with Universal Music Spain and Vale Music[3].

From this work came performances and presentations like the Folklorama Winnipeg[4], where he showcased a solo show representing Spain in the 2010 Festival.

William's taste in music has influenced his artistic style, comprising northern sounds and pop music with a vibrant and passionate Latino flair.

From an early age, he was influenced by the music of George Michael, Michael Jackson, Selena Quintanilla, and the pop-rock movement of the 80s.

William is writing, co-producing and recording his latest songs in Toronto and Barcelona.

The single "I What You Need"[5], written and performed by the singer, enjoyed airtime and media coverage,[6] appearing in The Canadian Beats Magazine[7] and the CTV morning show.[6]

He also performed at The Sagrada Familia Basilica in Barcelona, Spain, popular religious meaning songs, like Amazing Grace, into the Sunday Mass with a live organ and pioneering a pop vocal performance in this venue.

William is currently studying with Gordon Cleland,[8] The Principal cellist of the Niagara Symphony Orchestra, to prepare and continue his education in Opera Studies at the University Of Manitoba.
