Wen-Yeh Lin (林文也) is a Taiwanese violinist, conductor, and music educator. He has taught at the Department of Music at Tunghai University and is the author of the violin teaching system "The Joyful Violin House".[1]

Life and Career

Wen-Yeh Lin studied violin at the National Taiwan University of Arts. In 1980 he continued his studies in Austria at the Vienna Conservatory and later, in 1981, transferred to Italy to study with Roberto Michelucci, earning an artist diploma from the Parma Conservatory in Italy.[2] From 1986 to 1998 Wen-Yeh Lin participated in various conducting and string teaching programs at schools such as the Vienna Conservatory, Indiana University, Ithaca College, The University of Iowa, and engaged in pedagogical discussions with Professor Louies Behrend at The Juilliard School.[1]

After completing his studies, Wen-Yeh Lin dedicated himself to performing, conducting, and music education. He served as the principal of the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra.[2] Wen-Yeh Lin also taught at various music departments in Taiwan, including Tainan University of Technology and Tunghai University.[3] He conducted orchestras at schools such as Taichung Shaung Shih Junior High School and Taichung City Municipal Taichung Second Senior High School.[4] Additionally, he held the position of Executive Director at Huei-Ming School.[1]

Wen-Yeh Lin led the Taichung Shaung Shih Junior High School orchestra in various performances, such as a 1997 performance at the Lincoln Center in New York and a 1999 performance at the Golden Hall in Vienna. Besides teaching at music departments in Taiwan, he also provided music education to children with disabilities.[3]

In addition to his teaching, Wen-Yeh Lin published an article titled "An Introduction to the Violin" in the 1992 edition of the "Taiwan Symphony" journal, explaining the construction and principles of the violin.[5] He also developed the "The Joyful Violin House" violin teaching system.[1]
