Golden Hall of Great Hall of the People

The National Reception Hall of the Great Hall of the People (also known as the Golden Hall) is a significant venue where the Party and state leaders meet foreign dignitaries and ambassadors from various countries to present their credentials.[4]This hall later earned the moniker "Golden Hall" because of its elaborate architectural features and grandeur.[4]

The entire hall is supported by 20 vermilion-painted stone columns adorned with golden cloud patterns, creating a magnificent coffered ceiling.[1] The space can accommodate around 2,000 people. According to Wang’s design, the "Golden Hall" aimed to blend traditional Chinese decorative styles with Western classical architectural elements, incorporating more modern lighting and sound systems.[1] However, traditional decorative elements were also emphasized more than before.[1]
