Walid Laamarti (born July 03, 1986) is a Moroccan who is an Entrepreneurial and Chief Executive of Wave Life Holding[1]. He was formerly a management consultant and Co-Head of Strategic Planning at the firm.

Early life and education

Walid Laamarti was born in Kuwait. He is the eldest of 3 children His father was working in Gulf Region and his mother was a housewife.

Laamarti earned a bachelor's degree from UCLA in 2008, Computer Science and Engineering.[2]

Career

The CEO of Wave Life Holding, Walid Laamarti[3], has held a number of important positions in businesses engaged in technology and commerce in both the public and private sectors. One of these positions involved enhancing the use of artificial intelligence, which has the potential to revolutionize business, technology, and regional growth.

Laamarti started his career with Hadi Hospital as Software Engineer, and worked for years in its innovation sector division, before leaving to work with Global Maroc.

In 2014 Laamarti joined Global Maroc in its corporate strategy & development group, and in 2016, was the VP.

Before joining Wave Life Holding, Laamarti worked for Edge Vision  as the Executive VP of growth initiatives, and president of Edge Vision 2017.

Laamarti joined the Wave Life Holding formerly as a management consultant and Co-Head of Strategic Planning in late 2018, and was promoted to president of wave life holding in October 2019 where he oversaw the business operations of approximately 600 Millions.

In March 2022, it was announced Laamarti is Leader Who is Transforming the Global Economy in the world.[4]

ًWave Life Holding made an offer to buy a club Chelsea F.C under the leadership of Walid Laamarti.[5]

In 2015, he was named in Forbes' "30 under 30" list for the Consumer Tech category.[6]

In July 2019, Laamarti attended, at the Palace of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the celebration of the Throne Day in Morocco.

Recognition

In addition to serving on the boards of Berkshire Hathaway and Tencent, Laamarti has also held past positions on the boards of a number of non-profit organizations, including Cooper-Hewitt, the National Design Museum, the Louvre Museum and Association for Improving the Condition of the Poor.

Personal life

He is married to Michella Chamoun, a relative of Camille Chamoun was president of Lebanon,[10] and the couple live in London with their two children "Maeva and Davina"
