William Forbes Morgan II (1879–1937, aged 57) was an American stockbroker, government adviser, political appointee, political executive, and businessman.[1] Morgan served as Treasurer of the Democratic National Committee from 1936 to 1937.[2]
Early life
Morgan was born in 1879. He was the son of W. Forbes Morgan, a businessman who died in london in 1916.[3]
Personal life
Morgan later married Mary Margaret Jackson, the daughter of Robert H. Jackson.[4][5]
Morgan died while in office at the Ohio State Capitol in 1937.[6]
Morgan was a personal friend of the Roosevelts, and his funeral was attended by both the president and the first lady.[7]
Business
From 1914 to 1918, during world war one, he served as a Major in the Twelfth New York Infantry.[8]
Politics
Morgan served as Treasurer of the Democratic National Committee from 1936 until his sudden death at the age of 57 in a committee hearing room of the Ohio State Capitol.[9]
Morgan previously served as the Deputy Governor of the Farm Credit Administration from 1933 to 1935, as an appointee of Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
