Volodymyr Usov (Ukrainian languageУ́сов Володи́мир Володи́мирович, born on September 23, 1983) is a Ukrainian businessman, IT entrepreneur and inventor. He is a former chairman of the State Space Agency of Ukraine.

Biography

Volodymyr Usov was born on September 23, 1983 in Odessa.

In 2005, he graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the Odessa National Maritime University, specializing in "Management of Organizations".[1]

From 2010 to 2011, Usov led the "Reporter" Media Holding.

In 2011, Usov founded Gutenbergz, a company which produced interactive Ebook.[2]

In 2014, Usov co-founded a 3D-printing startup, Kwambio.[3][4][5][6][7]

In January 2020, Usov became the chairman of the State Space Agency of Ukraine. His main task was to transform the Ukrainian space industry from the Soviet model to a modern one, and to integrate it into a global space market by corporate reform of enterprises and the adoption of a new national space program.[8][9] As a chairman of the State Space Agency of Ukraine Usov launched the "Lybid" satellite project and offered to reset the project to construct a Ukrainian cosmodrome in Brazil at Alcântara Space Center|Alcantara.[10][11]

In October 2020, Usov was elected a member of the International Academy of Astronautics.[12]

After leaving Ukraine’s space agency in November 2020,[13] in 2021 Usov co-founded the startup Kurs Orbital, which serves commercial geostationary satellites.[2][14][15][13][16]
