Volnoe Delo Foundation (Russian: Вольное Дело, translation: voluntary cause) is one of the oldest and largest Russian private charitable foundations[1][2]. It was established in 1998 by a major Russian industrialist Oleg Deripaska.[3]
The Foundation tackles key social challenges in Russia and beyond, champions education and the sciences, and works to preserve the nation's cultural and historical heritage. To date Volnoe Delo has backed over 500 projects across 50 regions of Russia, impacting nearly 90,000 schoolchildren, 4,000 teachers, 8,000 university and vocational students, 4,000 scientists, and more than 1,200 educational, scientific, cultural, healthcare, and sports institutions.
The Foundation's efforts primarily focus on, but are not limited to, education, science, healthcare, cultural preservation, cross-cultural initiatives, robotics, regional development, welfare programs, and animal care.
