Major General Vladimir Mikhail Karlovich Rjepetsky (born: Vladimir Mikhail Karlovich Rzepecki, 7 November 1853 – 6 September 1914) was a Russian Major General in the 19th & 20th Centuries who served during the Russian conquest of Central Asia.

Early Life

Vladimir Karlovich Rjepetsky was born in Reval on 7 November 1853 to Karol Ivanovich Rzepecki (1816–1881) and Aalia Rzepecka (nee Lohmann, 1822–1892), and was one of 7 children;

• Col. Mikołaj Bernard Rzepecki (20 August 1840 – 13–16 April 1914), married to Józefa Maria Wróblewska (1846–1925) and had 3 children.
• Antonina Szydłowska (26 Jul 1843 – 1895/99), married to Aleksander Jan Szydłowski (1842–1914) and had 3 children.
• Olga Henrietta Karlovna Rzepecka (1845–1868)
• Lt. Col. Karol Edward Karlovich Rzepecki (10 August 1847 – 12 November 1894), married to Helena Rzepecka (nee Kamieńska, 1865–1937) and had 5 children.
• Alexander Konstantin Karlovich Rzepecki (11 July 1849–1899), married Olga Nikolaevna Rzepecka and has 1 child.
• Józef Jan Rzepecki (29 March 1858–1888)

Karol graduated Voronezh Military Gmnasium.

Military Career

He began his service on 30 August 1870 when he entered the 3rd Alexandrovsky Military School. On 21 July 1872, he was made Second Lieutenant in the 1st Turkestan Rifle Battalion after completing his 2-year course in 1st rank. On 18 January 1874, he was promoted to Lieutenant for military distinction in combat operations during the Khivan campaign of 1873. On 16 November 1876, he was promoted to Staff Sergeant for his distinction in the case against the Khiva Khanate.

On 7 June 1880, he was promoted to Captain and on 25 July 1890 he was transferred to the 4th Turkestan Rifle Battalion. On 26 February 1891, he was transferred to the 88th Reserve Infantry Personnel Battalion, but only stayed there for less than a month as on 20 March 1891 he was transferred back to the 1st Turkestan Rifle Battalion. On 31 July 1900, he was promoted to Colonel and appointed commander of the 1st Turkestan Rifle Battalion. On 2 September 1903, he was made commander of the 17th East Siberian Rifle Regiment of His Imperial Highness Grand Duke Alexei Alexandrovich. On 13 July 1905, he was promoted to Major General but it lasted shortly as he was discharged from the Imperial Russian Army on the 2 August 1905 due to illness, he was awarded a Uniform and a Pension. He died on the 6 September 1914 at his private estate near Tashkent at the age of 60 and was buried in the Tashkent Botkin Cemetery.
