Viva la Novella

Launched in 2012 by Seizure literary journal, Viva la Novella is the only stand-alone novella competition in Australia. Winners receive a cash prize and publication with Seizure in print and digital formats. Past winners include Marlee Jane Ward, who won the Victorian Premier's Literary Award - Writing for Young Adults Prize[1] for her young adult novella, Welcome to Orphancorp; and Mirandi Riwoe who was shortlisted for the 2018 Stella Prize[2] for her novella, The Fish Girl. One of 2019's winners, Offshore, was optioned[3] by Sydney filmmaker, Partho Sen-Gupta.
