Virginia Marston, also referred to as Dr. Virginia Marston and Virginia Marston Martinez (born 1966), is an American board-certified naturopathic doctor and registered nurse in Mexico who founded La Luz Wellness Center, a residential integrative health facility in Chihuahua, Mexico.[1][2] She has practiced in natural and alternative medicine for more than three decades and works as an instructor, lecturer and conference speaker in the field.[1]

Early life and background

Marston began working in holistic health after her infant daughter sustained a brain injury at nine months of age that left her with cerebral palsy and unable to move or speak. Seeking treatment options in the United States, Marston encountered holistic and alternative approaches to care and went on to study them. Her daughter remained bedridden until her death at the age of eighteen.[1] Marston has described this period as the origin of her interest in unconventional therapeutic methods, which she later applied to other patients.[1]

Career

Marston is credentialed as a naturopathic doctor in the United States and as a registered nurse in Mexico.[1] Her clinical work covers neural therapy, family constellation therapy, iridology, nutrition, chiropractic procedures and ozone therapy.[1]

She founded La Luz Wellness Center, also operating as Clinica De La Luz, in Chihuahua, Mexico. The center provides inpatient programs addressing chronic conditions through detoxification protocols, nutritional support and therapy, and limits the number of guests admitted at one time.[2] Marston is identified on the organization's materials as its founder, and its clinical staff includes physicians in pediatrics and intensive care, and in cardiology.[1]

Outside of direct patient care, Marston has worked as an instructor and keynote speaker, presenting on natural and alternative therapies at conferences.[1]

Personal life

Marston is the mother of twelve children.[1] She is based in Chihuahua, Mexico.[1]
