After moving to Los Angeles where he became a "trainer to the stars,"[7] Tortorich began a podcast around 2012 called the Angriest Trainer Podcast. It has since been renamed the Fitness Confidential Podcast.[8] Tortorich regularly appears on The Adam Carolla Show (podcast)|The Adam Carolla Show, among others.[5] He has founded three companies: Pure Vitamin Club, Pure Coffee Club, and NSNG Foods.[9][10][11]

Tortorich has written two books: Monty,[12] a successful children's book, and Fitness Confidential,[13] which tracks his life, including his ultra-cycling career, his battle with Leukemia which began in 2007, and contains his fitness advice, as well.[3] In 2019, he co-created and starred in his documentary, FAT: A Documentary, directed by Peter Pardini, distributed by Gravitas Ventures.[14] The documentary at one point topped the iTunes US charts for independent films, and was featured highly on other lists, as well.[15]
