Vincenzo Trani is an Italian businessman.[1] He is the founder of the Russian car sharing company Delimobil.[2]

Early Life and Education

Trani was born on May 18, 1974 in Naples, Italy. He comes from a family of Italian bankers. His father served as the head of international department of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena, an Italian bank which is the world's oldest bank.[3]

He is a graduate of the St. Petersburg Institute of International Trade, Economics and Law with a degree in events economics and jurisprudence.[4]

Prior to his arrival in Russia, Trani served in the Italian Army[5] and was employed as a banker hailing different positions at Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena.[6]

Career

At the age of 25, Trani arrived in Russia in 2001 when he saw an advertisement in the Moscow Times about the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).[7] He started out as a senior advisor of small and midsize business development and then as the EBRD representative of the board of directors.[8] He later became the deputy director genera of KMB Bank in Russia.[9] He was among the organizers of selling the KMB Bank to Intesa Bank.[10]

Trani founded the company, Mikro Kapital launched in 2008, a firm which lends loans to small scale and medium-sized businesses in Russia, East Europe and CIS countries.[11]

In 2015, Trani founded the car-sharing service Delimobil, which was the first car-sharing service in Russia and is currently the second-largest car sharing service in the country.[12][13][14] In 2018, Trani through Delimobil launched electric scooter rental services as confirmed by the official website of the Mayor of Moscow.

In 2019, he became the president of Italy–Russia relations Chamber of Commerce replacing Rosario Alessandro who had been the president since 1999.[15][16]

As the president of the Italian-Russian Chamber of Commerce, Trani was responsible for striking a deal between Adienne, an Italian-Swiss pharmaceuticals company and the Russian Direct Investment Fund for the production of the Sputnik V vaccine in Italy and other European Union countries.[17]

Personal life

Trani is a collector of retro cars. He owns a GAZ-M20 Pobeda and a GAZ Chaika.[18]

Awards and Achievements

Trani is the recipient of the Order of the Star of Italy because of his services in improving relations between Italy and Russia.[19]

In 2009, he was appointed as the Honorary Consul of Belarus in Naples.[20]

Pavel Borodin, the former State Secretary of the Union of Russia and Belarus awarded Trani an Honorary Medal for Business Development in Russia and Belarus.[21]
