Vilson Ndregjoni (born January 31, 1992), is an Albanian professional mixed martial artist. He currently competes in the Bantamweight division in the Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC). He is a former Freestyle wrestling world championship contender under the United World Wrestling[1] organization.

Born in Albania, Vilson began wrestling at a young age before competing in his first freestyle wrestling world championship[2] in 2014. Vilson moved to the United States later on to pursue a career in mixed martial arts and had his first amateur career fight in 2018 before turning professional in 2019.[3][4]

Wrestling career

Vilson's first big wrestling event took place in 2011 for the World Junior Championships wrestling competition where he placed 24th in the men's 60.0 kg weight class.[5][6]

In 2013, he competed in the European Wrestling Championships and secured the 20th position in the weight category of 66.0 kg.[7]

The following year, he participated in the World Wrestling Championships and placed 28th while competing in the 65.0 kg category.[8]

In 2015, he participated in the same event and finished in 35th place in the same weight category.[9]

In 2021, Vilson took part in the World OG Qualifer for the Olympic Games and earned the 23rd spot in the 65.0 kg category.[10][11]

Mixed martial arts career

Amateur career

In his very first fight, Vilson faced Paul Capaldo on the main card of the lightweight division and was defeated by KO/TKO at 1:18 of Round 2.[12]

In his second fight in the preliminary card of the lightweight division, Ndregjoni was victorious against Toheed Ashorobi, submitting him at 0:33 of Round 2.[13]

In his third fight in the main card of the vacant featherweight championship, Ndregjoni went up against Mike Fitzroy and won via a 3 Round Decision.[14]

In his fourth fight in the main event of the featherweight championship, Ndregjoni fought against Kelvin Sterling and secured a 3 Round Decision victory. [15]

Finally, in his last amateur career fight in another featherweight championship main event, Ndregjoni defeated Zhassulan Khussainov by submission at 1:57 of Round 1. [16]

Professional career

Vilson Ndregjoni is currently fighting in the Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) as a professional MMA fighter.

Vilson's next upcoming fight will take place on April 1, 2023 for CFFC 118.[17]

In his first professional fight on the main card of the featherweight division, Ndregjoni defeated Johnny Cardona via submission at 1:03 of Round 1.[18]

In his second professional featherweight division fight, Ndregjoni was defeated by Andrew Johnson via submission at 0:46 of Round 3.[19]

In his third fight Ndregjoni competed in the lightweight division as well, defeating William Dill in the co-main event via a 3 Round Decision.[20]

In his fourth fight, a main card event of the featherweight division, Ndregjoni secured another 3 Round Decision victory against Mike Gonzalez.[21]

In his fifth fight, a main event of the featherweight division, Ndregjoni was victorious against Keith Speed via a 5 Round Decision.[22]

In his sixth fight, a main event of the featherweight division, he was defeated by Boimah Karmo via a 3 Round Decision.[23]

In his seventh fight, a co-main event of the featherweight division, Ndregjoni won against Chris Vasil via a 3 Round Decision.[24]

In his eighth fight, on the main card of the featherweight division, Angel Pacheco defeated Ndregjoni via submission at 3:27 of Round 2.[25]

In his ninth and most recent fight in the catchweight division preliminary card, Ndregjoni won against John Douma via a 3 Round Decision.[26]
