Viktor Uniyat

Viktor Bohdanovych Uniyat (born July 23, 1977 in Dubovtsy) is a Ukrainian historian, local historian, journalist, and editor. Honorary local historian of Ukraine (2008).

Biography

Graduated from Ternopil Vocational School No. 1 (1995), Faculty of History, Faculty of History of Ternopil State Pedagogical University (2000), courses of management and Human Resources Management "McEwen College" (1999, Canada). He worked as a teacher of History, Political Science and philosophy of Ternopil higher education institution No. 1 (2000-2003), scientific editor of the Ternopil encyclopedic dictionary (2003-2010); since 2009 — candidate of the Department of modern and contemporary history of the Ternopil National Pedagogical University named after V. Hnatyuk; since 2010-deputy director of the municipal enterprise "Ternopil Regional Tourist Information and Local History Center"; member of the editorial board and head of the editorial and publishing group of the encyclopedic publication "Ternopil region. History of cities and villages".

Since October 2016-editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Svoboda plus Ternopil region".[1]

Social and cultural activities

Chairman of the regional organization of the Association of local historians-encyclopedists of Ternopil region (from 2011), chairman of the primary cell of the Ternopil regional organization of the National Union of journalists of Ukraine in the publishing house "Zbruch" (from 2006), Deputy Chairman of the Ternopil regional organization of the National Union of local historians of Ukraine, member of the board of the heraldic Union of Ternopil region (2009), "Memorial", "Union of religious scholars" and other organizations. Member of the editorial board of the publications "history of settlements of the Ternopil region", "bar of the Ternopil region".

Author and co-author of more than 2000 articles in 4 volumes of the publication "Ternopil encyclopedic dictionary", articles on local history topics in scientific collections, periodicals.
