Vik Toreus is an International DJ and Music Producer from the UK. He has performed at some of the largest venues around the world.[1]
The countries he has performed include USA, Malta, Brazil, Turkey, Bulgaria and Italy.[2]
Early Life
Born in London, UK, Vik Toreus started learning to play the guitar and piano from the age of 7-8 years. His real name is Vik and began his career with mobile disco company, HV Entertainment[3] in 2005 whilst working a day job in City of London.[4][5]
Vik gained recognition in London as a DJ playing mainstream, dance and R&B when he approached a booking agent who offered him DJ sets around London.[5]
Career
Vik claims that his most memorable gig was performing for a party in London for Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Sonam Ahuja and Kareena Kapoor,[6] currently some of Bollywood's most popular stars.
As of April 2020, Vik's music collection has grown to over 32,000 records.[6]
Musical Style
Vik's musical style is diverse and fusional, ranging from a variety of cultures from South American, African, European and Middle-Eastern to Indian, Contemporary, Electronic and Urban.[1]
According to Vik, his musical influences range from Diplo, Alex Guesta, AR. Rahman, Masters At Work, Purple Disco Machine, Roger Sanchez, Gregor Salto, DJ Snake, Panjabi MC, Prince and Quincy Jones.[7]
In 2019 he launched "United Colors with India", a weekly radio show on Rukus Avenue Radio,[8] Dash Radio's exclusive South Asian Radio station.[9] This is a specialist world music show which features mashups, mixes and remixes from a variety of genres from South Asian music culture and merges them with different styles of world music including Spanish Music, Afrobeats and Arabic music.[6]
In March 2020 he released "Block The World", a reggaeton party record incorporating elements of Indian and Middle-Eastern music.[1]
